Entry one

I have just been taken from my residence in rural America and brought out to a countryside prison where there are about sixty other kids my age. We all seem to share similar traits, like our exceptional eyesight, hearing and physical strength. I miss my parents a bit, but to be honest it’s a nice change to be surrounded by other people who are as smart as me. Not too much goes on in this dismal place. We spend our time planning our escape, and pass the time outwitting the guards and exercising our brains with simple games. I have made quite a few acquaintances among the other prisoners.  We all seem to get along very well; our only real enemies are the guards who are a fragment smarter or crueler than the majority of the guards. About every week two more children are brought from the outside; they are our age or younger.  About once every couple of weeks one child tries to escape but so far everyone has failed. The children that try and escape are usually killed in the process.  As sad as this is, I suppose it is a learning experience for the rest of us. These failed escapes help us to develop new and better escape strategies. None of us knows why we were brought here, but we are all eager to get out.
